Now then,
Welcome to the Poet’s Notes or the Poets’ Notes. The lack of ability to add an apostrophe into the domain allowed for a little, and welcomed, ambiguity.
For now, it is just notes from me, but I will also be adding poems and notes from writers published on Pulp Poets Press.
Now, I’ve introduced ThePoetsNotes, a little bit more about myself. I’m Joe Pickard, founding editor of Pulp Poets Press, I have seven years’ experience of editing a lit mag, as well as six years as a professional editor of a magazine.
My first interest in writing was through poetry, and at the end of the last week I achieved one of the goals I’ve had for nearly two decades- to have a collection published. My debut (very) short collection, Pilgrimer, was published by The Braag in January 2025.
Like the rough edges of the original pulp fiction publications, these notes are going to be imperfect. But, the way I see it going is like this: a few notes on what it is like to be an editor, what is like to be a poet trying to establish themselves, a few prompts here and there, and the showcasing of the great poets featured on Pulp Poets Press. Let’s see how it goes.

Congratulations on your book! My first is coming out in April.
